#For Conway

06.09.19 | by Nancy Hannon

For far too long, the church has been known for what it’s against.  We want to be known for what we are for, because  Jesus was FOR people.  Our world has always been full of  problems, but rather than being overwhelmed, we want to be part of the solution.  As part of our #FORCONWAY effort, we are hosting a five-part summer series on Wednesday nights called #MISSIONCONWAY.  Mission Conway begins this Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Café.  Each week we will hear from the leader of a local ministry who will not only give us information about their ministry and its mission, they will give us practical ideas for how we can help.  We want to find ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

This week, we will hear from Marti Jones, CFBC member and  director of Haven Conway.  Haven is a residential group home for adolescent females that have come into foster care at no fault of their own. Haven takes referrals from all over the state of Arkansas to provide these children a safe home free from abuse and/or neglect. Since its inception in 1986,  H.A.V.E.N. has been an acronym for their mission - Help for Abuse Victims in  Emergency Need. Haven is now being redefined as a safe place to foster growth among adolescent girls placed in our care. Their updated theme is – Every Child Deserves A Home. We will spend about an hour with Marti, and after our class, she has invited us to come tour their new facility.

Make plans to join us on Wednesday nights from June 12th- July 17th.  Childcare will be provided.  For more information,  contact or
