Our second mission team returns from Belize today after working for a week building a school in the Central American heat and humidity. For the record, and it could actually be a record, it is actually hotter in Central Arkansas than it has been in Belize. Just saying.
The first mission team (already home) provided medical services—a huge need in the tiny village of Succotz, Belize. A gigantic number of patients were seen for medical and dental services; everybody was presented with God’s Good News.
Later this Summer, several of our folks will travel to Romania to conduct medical missions.
Last week, a bunch of adults and teens spent several days at Camp Champion, our free overnight camp for area kids.
Next month, a group of adults will sacrifice a week of their vacation to help facilitate Ignite, our camp for students.
Plus, we’re also doing Camp Champion Sports Day Camp and Adventure Week and SMACK this summer. And we continue to do church on Sunday and have LIFE groups and Wednesday activities.
It takes a lot to be this active. It takes a lot of money, so please be sure you are a faithful financial supporter of your church.
It takes a lot of prayer, so please pray every day for these events and these workers and for the power of God.
And, it takes a lot of passion and heart, so please examine your commitments and priorities. God has something for you to do to honor Him and serve others.
It takes a lot, but it’s worth a lot. Sometimes, it’s feels pretty heavy. But, everything that matters is heavy.
